Fashion Promotion 15/12/16

Today I have done some collages , which relate to my theme with fruits,jewellery  and hands.

On these 2 collages I tried to show the structure,details and the beauty of imperfection.

Furthermore I have done some experiment with fruit’s prints. I cut and coloured them in unnatural colour. I am planning to paint halves of fruits in different colours and also cut them in different not ordinary way.

Fruits and hands on this collage look so unusually and strangely , but I wanted to show the interesting part of the imperfection , which is also can be used for advertising.

FP Introduction to Adobe Premiere 14/12/16

Today I broaden my knowledge in editing skills in new program Adobe Premiere.

I have never used this program before , only iMovie. It was not so difficult to assimilate basic level of editing in Adobe Premiere. Out tutor shown how to set more that 2 video together and how to change some colour settings. I learned key actions like cutting,trimming,deleting.

For the exercises in Adobe Premier I filmed videos which are relate to my final ideas and it was useful experiment for me.

After we have done some exercised with teacher I started to investigate it by myself. I started to click almost on all effects and by doing this I found really cool setting and effects.

In video effects>color correction>change colour= I learned how to make different colourful figures and add them anyway in the video. Also I can male half of the video in another colour.

In ‘change color’ , by  using matching tolerance I created an effect as video disappeared. In motion> scale= I can make films smaller or bigger and change the position. Using hue transform I can change colour and tones of my shots.

For soundtrack I used song from film “CHAOS”. In the internet , on website “online-convert.com”. I just put the link of the video and then I downloaded song “Downtown” without the words.

Fashion Promotion 12/12/16

I continued to watch different fashion movies and campaigns, but this time I was looking for soundtrack for my film. I found very creative and stylish video “CHAOS”, which also relate to my theme ” IMPERFECTION”, because chaos is complete disorder and confusion , in other words its also imperfection .

This video inspired me so much and I want to take some ideas from it. Firstly there are lots of short shots of word ‘chaos’ in different colors and prints, at the beginning of this video. I want make something similar also at the beginning of my fashion movie.

Secondly, ‘torn’ shots are amazing editing for my theme, but I think its difficult to make and I need some special edit programs.

I took screenshots of sequences , where a model was cutting her underclothes and also effect of inclination of a camera. I really liked that at the end of the film, they have shown unsuccessful shots, where some models did not catch ball and bat for the fashion shot, or where model set straight her hair , which get in her mouth , when she was turning her hair.

For my film I can make some unsuccessful moments of filming . For example , when my model will cut a fruit not from the first time and she will fail to hit or when she will cut it unevenly and one part of fruit will be bigger that another one.

Talking about a soundtrack from this video , its dynamic and has different rhythm and without words . I was looking for song like this.

 

Fashion Promotion 08/12/16

My teacher advised me to have a look jewelry designer Polly Wales. I have looked her instagram account and official website. She created amazing accessories like rinds and earring , that are look unfinished or broken, but its so cool. Polly Wales design are sought after for their distinctive rough luxe aesthetic that is imperfect in its beauty. The designer is trying to make something that has imperfect beauty to it.

When I was looking for different jewelry campaign , I found still life ‘Forbidden Fruits’ by Peter Lippman for Marie Claire. The idea of crushed and crumpled fruits with jewelry inspired me and I want to try to do some similar for my fashion movie and film how hands hit fruits and edit these shots in reverse and use different effects.

C+CS Evaluation and Conclusion 13/12/16

Since we started our C+CS Seminars I have broaden my knowledge in history of art and I have learned how I can connect different types of art to my specialism. Even if not all art movements , that we have learned interested me and some art pieces I did not like and  understand , all our lessons have been so useful.

I am planning to sum up all art movements , that we have learned on our seminars.

Historical painting “The Arnolfini Marriage” demonstrates how items are symbolically used to cover meanings behind each work of art. Comparing contemporary art to traditional , its looks more simple and not really intelligible to audience , but modern art consist of prepared idea, that can inform people.

Dada and Surrealism have definitely molded the course of innovation. The Dada development was activated by response to genuine occasion, for example, alarming wars, possibilities and analyses were significant to Dada since it permits cheerful mishap to be embraced.On the other hand, Surrealism was roused by one’s oblivious personality, as it were implausible things are depicted as a topic.

Fashion Promotion Research 07/12/16

Today I started to draw in my sketchbook. Firstly I drew food , that do not match with its other part and I added uneven colorful background , that match to the food, but not for each. All about imperfection.

As well, I am planning to film shots, where another part of fruit is not the same fruit. For example , part of apple with orange or also I can film part of natural yellow banana with second red unnatural part.

Then I have research brand and campaign that have used food, especially fruits. It was not difficult to find it, because many companies use food for photoshoots and still life. But there are always choose perfect and good looking fruits, in my case, I will show that it is possible to sell the product by using not perfect objects.

Also I created collage , where I have shown , what I am planning to use for my final fashion movie. Hand with imperfect manicure and plaster, fruits in unnatural color and rotten fruits. Imperfection in food is also beautiful.

C+CS Seminar. Digital 06/12/16

The Digital Revolution refers to the advancement of technology from analogue electronic and mechanical devices to the digital technology available today. The era started during the 1980s and is ongoing. The Digital Revolution also marks the beginning of the Information Era.

Talking about my specialism and how the digital world concern to it, I can say that it’s a really important part of Fashion Promotion. I think that social media has been a key driver in the digital revolution. Not just a way for a brand to keep in touch with their consumer base but creating visibility and exposure. Digital will continue to impact brands connections with their customers.

Social media is the new government in fashion.

Thanks to some digital online marketing , which is growing every year , lot of brands earn enough money from it. This comes at no surprise with technology reversing the dynamic of the traditional runway show, giving way to the “see now, buy now” model. The rise of digital, and especially the mobile phone, has revolutionised the relationship between consumers and brands.

How we live is the reason for technological changes so global trends and insights are key to meeting consumer expectations. The changes and the implications are massive. One could say that the social media platforms are going to replace the fashion bloggers and the huge editorial teams some of these fashion houses have behind. Or, at least, have them reforming to Snapchat and Instagram and employing these platforms as the e-commerce portals of the future.

Fashion Promotion. Research 05/12/16

Since I started my research , I have found more ideas for my fashion movie.

In campaign of fashion brand D.Efect have shown what is imperfection. I really liked how they shown the imperfection in different forms like physically,visually,technically. This video inspired me and gave some ideas for collages. Also I can take an idea from the shot with hand with a trace of sun from watch, because I am planning use imperfect hands for my final movie.

 

The second film , that I put in my research is Cocoa Jewelry Fall 2015 campaign.

I like the editing of this movie. I want to take an idea of starting the film with slow music and after, pass onto faster. Also I like effects, that they have used , like blinking, reverse, deceleration . The most cool effect from my theme ‘imperfection’ is mismatch of the image.

Further, I have created 2 more collages . In the first I have done the effect from the video and I really liked how it looks.

At home I have done video edit experiment in iMovie. I have used this program before , bt I did not know , that it is possible to make such cool and interesting effects. As I am planning to use painted hands in my fashion movie, I filmed how I was painting my hand and I edited this video in all possible effects in iMovie.

Fashion Promotion. My idea for the project and research 01/12/16

My idea: fashion film jewelry campaign.

I want to show that it is also possible to promote jewelry or accessories by using imperfect objects. This ideas came to my mind while I was watching film “Bianca Balti as La Golosa Dolce&Gabbana”, where a model was eating fruits and sweets and on her hands and ears were D&G accessories. In my case, I want to film without a face , only parts of body with jewelry. Also I want to make mot perfect manicure and use unnatural food and rotten fruits.

On my moldboard I shown the ideas, that I want to use in my final fashion film like : hands in paint,patch, unnatural fruit – blue strawberry and bitten food.

I continued my research by creating collages in Photoshop, where I can realize some of my ideas or create new one.

Fashion Promotion 30/11/16

Firstly I have created a mind map , where I wrote about possibilities of imperfection and how I see it. I have done the mind map on crumpled piece of paper and the type ‘imperfection’ is also imperfect.

After I started to watch different fashion movies and advertising campaign .Then I have had not exactly idea for my movie , I just thought about broken cup,torn clothes,damaged buildings and combination of white,gray and pink colors.

For first idea I have inspired by this short advertising campaign video. I really like the mood of it and how the music changed and the attitude of the model, from sad to happy.

But after I watched more fashion movies and music videos and in my mind came an interesting idea and I have decided that it is the final one and I will continue to work on it. So I have created new mood board.

Fashion Promotion Specialism.Project Fashion Movie Image 28/11/16

For this project I will make a 2-3min fashion moving image with the central theme “Imperfection”.  This project will begin by building a body of research around a central concept ‘Imperfection’. I will gather research from within the medium – e.g. fashion film,animation,advertisement,experimental/art film,music video.

We have started our lesson by watching different fashion films and advertising campaigns for having an idea what we can to do.

I will start my research for this project and I will explain about it in my next blog.
