The Digital Revolution refers to the advancement of technology from analogue electronic and mechanical devices to the digital technology available today. The era started during the 1980s and is ongoing. The Digital Revolution also marks the beginning of the Information Era.
Talking about my specialism and how the digital world concern to it, I can say that it’s a really important part of Fashion Promotion. I think that social media has been a key driver in the digital revolution. Not just a way for a brand to keep in touch with their consumer base but creating visibility and exposure. Digital will continue to impact brands connections with their customers.
Social media is the new government in fashion.
Thanks to some digital online marketing , which is growing every year , lot of brands earn enough money from it. This comes at no surprise with technology reversing the dynamic of the traditional runway show, giving way to the “see now, buy now” model. The rise of digital, and especially the mobile phone, has revolutionised the relationship between consumers and brands.
How we live is the reason for technological changes so global trends and insights are key to meeting consumer expectations. The changes and the implications are massive. One could say that the social media platforms are going to replace the fashion bloggers and the huge editorial teams some of these fashion houses have behind. Or, at least, have them reforming to Snapchat and Instagram and employing these platforms as the e-commerce portals of the future.
